Government regulation and required documentation to get married in Las Vegas:

• Both parties must appear in person before a Clerk at a Clark County Marriage Bureau location. The Marriage License Bureau is located in downtown Las Vegas approximately 3 blocks south of the Fremont Street Experience.
• Applicants must be a biological male and a biological female, at least 18 years of age, and no nearer of kin than second cousins or cousins of half-blood, and not having a husband or wife living.  Nevada law allows only a male and female to be married. 
• Person between the age of 16 and 18 may be married with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. Minors will need an original or certified copy of the birth certificate which lists the name of the consenting parent. Legal guardians are required to present acertified copy of the court-ordered guardianship papers. No photocopies will be accepted. A parent or legal guardian is required to show acceptable ID as well.
• Identification to prove your name and age is required. Without acceptable identification, a marriage license will not be issued.The following may be used for identification: Driver's License or State Issued ID Card, Passport, Military Identification, or Resident Alien card. A combination of an Original or Certified Birth Certificate AND a secondary document with name and photograph, Social Security card, employee id or membership card (i.e. - Costco, Sams Club). Foreign Birth Certificates must be translated into English and notarized.

• The person performing the marriage ceremony MUST possess a Certificate of Authority to Perform Marriages issued by a County Clerk from the State of Nevada. Most churches and commercial wedding chapels use only authorized ministers, but ensure that the minister is properly authorized.

• Waiting period after marriage license is issued: None
• Divorced applicants must provide the Month/Day/Year and city/state where the divorce was finalized. The divorce must be final and filed with the court. You are not required to present the divorce decree.
• Widowed applicants are required to list the Month/Day/Year they were widowed and the city/state. You are not required to present a copy of the death certificate.
