The Europe Escape was a wonderful trip with some fantastic planning thanks to the hard-working crew. Grace, our tour leader, was fantastic. She's mature, responsible, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable in her field. Given the pricing, you really are getting an amazing experience for a very affordable price.

What an awesome experience! The tour was everything I expected, and more! Grace is the best tour guide ever--she have interesting historical backgrounds of the places we visited, and she's so patient and kind with everyone. Plus, she's game with karaoke just like our bus driver Josh! Josh is one cool cat, he knows his bus and he knows his roads...made the trip really smooth and manageable. We were on the bus a lot, but it was well worth it because every place is well worth visiting. My favorites are Jungfrau in Switzerland, Venice, Italy and Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The accommodations were nice, some more than others, and the optional tours and dinners are a must. Overall, I give this tour five stars and recommend it to those who are really wanting to "escape"!

I went on the the Europe Escape Tour and it was everything and more from what I expected! It was well and truly amazing! The whole experience from the start to end was so good! Getting the chance to meet people from around the world was amazing too. Being told historical facts about the different places we had visited was very interesting. I would definitely recommend it.

The tour was beyond our wildest dream. I expected to see the sights but was not counting on the harvest of new friends. Grace Alice was beyond one of the hardest working tour guides I have ever toured with. She worked relentlessly to make everything as smooth as possible and even though I know she had to be stressing about certain situations. She always had a lilt in her voice and quick to smile. For a young kid like that. Her wealth of knowledge on the history of our tour destinations was remarkable. It was so refreshing so see somebody so enthusiastic about history. The driver was beyond professional. William Burton or "Bill" was an excellent driver. Never once did we get lost and he kept that coach spotless. There is no way I could drive in Italy with my car let alone a 45 foot coach. True professional. This team made one of the greatest tour experiences of my life and from my wife and I , Thank you. If you have a tour manager /coach manager of the year. This team truly deserves a reward like that. We will be using Expat again. Looking at the Eastern Europe trip next. Can't wait. Thanks for everything. Ron and Toi Gile

Brilliamt taste tester of Europe on the Expat Explore 12 Day Europe Escape! You are on the go 24/7 so it's not for the traveler who wants to relax although we did find time here and there for that. The more able bodied you are the better - you will be hauling luggage and getting on & off the bus a lot. We averaged between 10-15kms walking per day and although exhausted, we loved it. You might think a bus tour is not for you as we did but with a superb driver in Bill in a comfortable and well maintained bus and a lovely and motivating tour guide in Grace we just loved every day. Nothing was any trouble for Grace and she went regularly above and beyond expectations to assist some passengers and to make sure we were all having the best time of our lives. Grace was exceptional and we felt genuinely cared for. Her sense of humour and her professionalism were real positives and we'd be hard pressed to find another guide as good - although perhaps Expat Explore is just that bit better than other companies. We had an amazing time and Grace Alice our Tour Leader made it all the more fun. Thank you Grace, it was a blast! We could never have seen this much on your own in the time frame or for such a great price! Expat Explore is great and we would love to book another trip!

Expat Explorer will always be the first & quintessential word that comes to mind for me when I think of Travel/ Dream Holiday/Wander Lust....Had the unforgettable pleasure of living my European Dream through them in Jan 2016....It was all that I had only dreamt of all my life, & Expat truly excelled & super exceeded my expectations...A special thanks to Carl Cronje, the founder of the company,(whom we also got to meet with briefly) getting me & many many others to live that dream,& esp to our Brilliant, patient & very charming Tour Leader Laura, & ofcourse our very Rockstar driver Sean... Both were truly the epitome of professionalism at its best... In short, it can't get any better than Expat Explorer !

  • Introduction
Experience some of Europe's best cities and sights in only 12 days, including Paris, Rome, Amsterdam, Bruges, Tuscany, Venice, Munich and Switzerland
  • Expand all
  • Day 1: Visit Paris.
    In and around Paris
Welcome to your 12 day Europe Tour! Your life will never be the same again. Departing London, you will be escorted across the English Channel, to meet the European Continent. Progressing through the French countryside, the anticipation of visiting one of the most cultural, iconic and cosmopolitan cities on the planet, will start to grip you. Finally...you meet Paris - 'The City of Lights and Love'. Expat Explore will introduce you to the metropolis, on a relaxing coach tour of the city, where you shall cruise past such iconic landmarks as the Eiffel Tower, The Louvre and Notre Dame - taking note of the places you wish to explore more on your free day. After dinner in the artistic Montmartre part of the city the rest of the evening is yours to spend as you wish. A wander through the bohemian Spanish Quarter...a traditional French cabaret, perhaps? Maybe just a romantic stroll along the Seine River... This is Paris - don’t waste a moment... Included: Dinner.
  • Day 2: A free day in Paris.
The wonderful thing about Paris, is that it there is so much to experience, regardless of the time of day, or season. The Seine River is the backbone of the capital, and flows through the heart of the city. The banks are peppered with book sellers and market stalls if you wish to walk. But, why not choose a cruise, and cruise your way past the grandeur of the gothic Notre Dame cathedral, to the epic Eiffel Tower? The commentary from the river boats will give you invaluable knowledge and information of the city. Famous architecture is scattered through the city, and ‘strolling’ is the best mode of transport for taking in every ounce of history. Paris Disneyland is perfect for the ‘young at heart’, and is only a short distance away. Your Expat Explore tour leader is brimming with ideas and local knowledge, so that you can get the best out of your time here. Don’t forget to find out where you can sample such French delicacies as frogs legs and snails - not your typical garden variety... Included: Breakfast.
  • Day 3: Visit Burgundy & Switzerland.
Au revoir Paris! Today we sample a taste of small town France with a lunch stop in Burgundy. In the town of Beaune you can visit the beautiful Hospices de Beaune, or try the famous wine. After lunch we take a long scenic drive across the border into Switzerland and head towards the Swiss Alps for our stay in a typical mountain village in the heart of the Jungfrau region. This is one of the most-visited regions of the Alps and also a World Heritage site, containing Europe's largest glacier. Welcome to the Swiss Alps, your home for the next two days! Included: Breakfast, dinner.
  • Day 4: A free day in the Swiss Alps.
Are you excited!! It’s a guaranteed snow day!! For 365 days of the year, Jungfraujoch is blessed with snow, and today you have the option to explore the ‘Top of Europe’ on one of our most popular excursions! The journey up the mountain is a highlight in itself, and you shall be shuttled to the highest railway station in the whole of Europe, and rewarded with the most inspirational views imaginable.. This 4000m glacier has a beauty all of its own, and the combination of ice, snow, rock and epic views will stay with you for life. Once at the top, frolic as you will. Alternatively, for those who wishing to spend their free day exploring the local sights, you can head to Interlaken, feasting on Swiss chocolate fondue, do a spot of sightseeing and souvenir shopping, or just wander the village, breathing in that crisp, fresh, Alpine air! Included: Breakfast.
  • Day 5: Visit Florence.
    In and around Florence
It's time to swap snow for gelato, as you continue your European tour through northern Italy to Florence. Once we arrive, a local guide can’t wait to show you around on a walking tour of the city. History oozes out of every pore of this artistic and cultural centre - the city is home to Michaelangelo’s ‘David’. After some free time to further explore Florence we head to our accommodation for the evening, either in Florence or the spa town of Montecatini Terme. Included: Breakfast.
  • Day 6: Visit Pisa and Rome.
    In and around Rome, Pisa
Today, your Italian adventure continues! Make sure you prepare your camera for a photo opportunity of a lifetime..when we stop at the Leaning Tower of Pisa! This world famous Bell tower is immaculately presented. A world heritage UNESCO site, The Leaning Tower is visited by tourists from every corner of the globe, and is one of the most popular cultural European landmarks. We then continue on to Rome, where your tour leader will take you on a driving tour of the Italian capital to introduce you to some of the historic sights. This afternoon is a perfect opportunity to take advantage of an optional excursion to visit the Vatican City - the smallest country in the world! Inside the walls, you can visit the Sistine Chapel and see for yourself the famous ceiling painted by Michelangelo, as well as numerous other famous art pieces dotted around the buildings. On the way to your accommodation for the evening, you can start to plan what to do with your free day tomorrow. Included: Breakfast, dinner.
  • Day 7: A free day in Rome.
Rome wasn’t built in a day, but luckily you have a free one, in which to explore this Italian capital to your hearts content. The city centre boasts ancient ruins, historical landmarks, religious buildings and a buzzing atmosphere like no other. The Colosseum is spectacular, and for those who wish to enter, there are fabulous views of the city, and an unbelievable feeling of drifting backwards in time, to when gladiators, chariots and lions dominated the arena. A unique city, perched across 118 islands, and known for its canals, gondolas, Venetian masks, piazzas, art, traditional glass and lace making. See the world famous St Marks Square, Grand Canal and Rialto Bridge. The evening is yours to enjoy authentic Italian delights, with hundreds of fantastic local restaurants and bars to choose from. With much of the city having to be restored after WW2, the modern and ancient history of Munich is fascinating, and the appreciation of the effort to rebuild the German capital is gilded with respect.
